Worcester Railers’ Patrick McNally is headed to Sweden.

Leksands Idrottsförening (Leksands IF) announced the move on Tuesday Morning. It reads translated as follows:

We have had a tough autumn on the backside with a lot of injuries, which means we have picked up juniors who got up in the senior team and the guys have done very well. We have also looked for a new back that can strengthen our defensive game and we think we’ll find it in Patrick. Johan Hedberg has had an eye on Patrick for a long time since he has played in San Jose Shark’s team for two seasons, and Johan describes Pat as a large stable 2-way back, concludes Mikael Karlberg.

To date, McNally led the Railers in goals (12) and was tied for first in points (24). McNally had also led all defenseman in goals before the move.

McNally’s departure is the second big move for the Railers’ team, with Forward Chris Langkow signing a PTO with the Hartford Wolf Pack on December 28.
