Västerviks IK (Allsvenskan – Sweden) announced the signing of former Worcester Railers forward Kellen Jones on Monday.

Jones, who was under contract with the Bridgeport Sound Tigers, spent half of the season between Worcester and Bridgeport.

The team’s press release stated the following from General Manager Emil Georgsson (translated):

Kellen is a playful center that can also play forward. He likes to have a lot of puck and distribute the game. Kellen can control powerplay, but also play physically despite his size. We are happy to get Kellen to VIK next season and believe he will be able to deliver offensive with our team.

Kellen was set to become a veteran player next season as he reached exactly 260 accumulated regular season games played between the AHL and ECHL at the end of last season.
