WORCESTER, MA – Worcester IceCats Executive Vice President and COO Kevin Cummings today announced that the team will wear jerseys identical to those worn by the IceCats during the inaugural season, for the final four home games. These retro jerseys will be part of a fundraiser to benefit Habitat for Humanity, starting at this Sunday’s 4:05 PM game at the DCU Center against the Albany River Rats.

The 1994-1995 IceCats jerseys carry the original seven hills of Worcester, Scratch, a hockey stick and an oversized ‘W’ on the crest. Smaller ‘W’ patches with paws and scratch marks adorn each shoulder. The jerseys themselves resemble the original road sweater, as for the past two seasons, the AHL has had road teams wear white. The base color is royal blue, accented with white and teal, including a five inch teal band on the bottom of the sweater. They will be worn starting Saturday April 9th.

This is the third season that the ‘Cats have worked with Habitat for Humanity. The “Jerseys Off Our Backs” promotion allows fans to buy one dollar scratch tickets, with the winners collecting their jerseys at the final regular season home game on April 17th. Last season, the IceCats raised $11,200 for the local chapter of Habitat for Humanity, a non-profit group building homes for those in need.

The IceCats return to action tomorrow night in Binghamton, NY at 7:05 PM against the Senators. Listen to the action on NewsTalk 580 WTAG, starting at 6:45 PM with IceCats Countdown.
