Worcester, MA — The Worcester Railers earned their second home win on Saturday night, defeating the Cincinnati Cyclones 4-2 at the DCU Center.

Tristan Lennox secured his third consecutive win of the season for the Railers, making a career-high 43 saves. Olof Lindbom, starting for the Cyclones for the second straight game, faced 31 shots and made key saves. Goals for the Railers were contributed by Anthony Callin, Zach White, Blade Jenkins, and Brendan Robbins, while Ole Julian Bjørgvik-Holm and Matej Pekar tallied for the Cyclones in their late comeback attempt. The Railers are back to .500 for the first time since winning on opening night.

The lone referee for the second consecutive game was Dominic Cadieux. Despite the Railers having more power play opportunities, there were numerous missed calls for the second straight game.

Worcester initiated the scoring as Anthony Callin deflected a shot from Todd Goehring from the right circle during a rush into the Cyclones’ zone at 7:12 in the first period. Zach White doubled the lead two minutes later, taking advantage of a mishandled puck by Cincinnati’s goaltender Olof Lindbom behind the net. Keeghan Howdeshell recovered the puck and connected with White at 9:21.

Heading into the second period with a steady lead, the Railers continued to extend their advantage when Blade Jenkins deflected a shot from Trevor Cosgrove at 11:32.

Cincinnati fought back in the third period with two goals. Ole Julian Bjørgvik-Holm showcased a skillful move close to the net, firing a shot into the top corner. Just three minutes later, Matej Pekar redirected a point shot from Steven MacLean, narrowing the Cyclones’ deficit to 3-2. Lindbom was pulled during the Cyclones’ timeout with 1:03 left in the period, and Brendan Robbins scored on a hail-mary shot from the Railers’ zone to secure their second home win of the season.

The Railers welcome the Maine Mariners for the first meeting between the two teams on Sunday afternoon, puck drop is slated for 3:05 p.m.
