Game Story

Worcester, MA – The Worcester Railers hosted the Adirondack Thunder for the last of five home games between the two this season.

Neither team scored in the opening twenty minutes, with Adirondack outshooting Worcester 12-8.

Nick Saracino scored his eleventh of the season after making contact with a shot from Ben Masella. Though it appeared to be Masella’s goal, Saracino unintentionally made contact with the puck for the goal. Railers held a 1-0 lead and outshot the Thunder 21-19 after 40 minutes.

Railers extended their lead to two with a goal from Matt Lane with just under four minutes left in regulation as a shot from Woody Hudson deflected off his stick.

The Three Stars of the Game were: Nick Saracino, Jake Randolph, and Mitch Gillam.

Railers are now 7-2-2-0 against the Thunder this season. The season series between the two teams wrap up on April 1 in Adirondack. With a win on Wednesday, the Railers are back to 3 points of the last playoff spot held by the Wheeling Nailers. Railers have two games in hand over Wheeling.

Railers host the Brampton Beast at home on Friday. Puck drops at 7 PM.
