WORCESTER, Mass. – A new era of professional hockey is coming to Central Massachusetts.

An ownership group led by local and regional investors today announced the launch of the Worcester Bruins, a new professional hockey franchise set to begin play in the 2026-27 season at First Tech Center, formerly the DCU Center.

The Worcester Bruins will bring black-and-gold hockey to the city, bringing one of the most recognizable identities in Massachusetts’ sports history while building a franchise centered on community engagement, player development, and a renewed commitment to professional hockey in the region.
