Notes

  • Railers Scratches: Tommy Kelley (14-day IR), Yanick Turcotte (lower body), David Quenneville (undisclosed injury), Ivan Kosorenkov (immigration issues), and Tommy Panico.
  • Monarchs Scratches:
  • As mentioned in Wednesday’s game recap, I mentioned that Tommy Kelley is eligible to return off injured reserve at any point. He was seen in the background of Today’s “Two Things with Tom” episode still wearing a red “no contact” jersey. While he’s been wearing this jersey and has been participating in practice for some time, it may be a little bit longer before he makes his season debut. He and Ivan Korsenkov are the only two on the Railers roster that are awaiting the season debuts.
  • Evan Buitenhuis made his starting debut in Friday’s game. Buitenhuis previously played in a relief effort earlier this season and was flawless in the preseason game against Maine. Buitenhuis is the fifth goalie to suit up and play in Railers history.
  • Former Railers emergency backup goalie Joe Spagnoli signed with Manchester prior to the game on Friday. Spagnoli continues to be a reliable back-up for several ECHL teams.
