Railers Nominated for Best Community Presence in Worcester Telegram
The Worcester Railers have been nominated for Worcester Telegram’s Best Company to Work For competition. The Railers are up against Harvard Pilgrim Health Care and Rotmans in the small companies category (under 200 employees).

Railers formally announce partnership with St. Peter Marian
After an announcement a few weeks ago, the Worcester Railers and St. Peter Marian have officially announced a partnership. At St. Peter Marian’s campus earlier this week, the team presented a check for $5,000 to help startup costs for the school’s first-ever girl’s hockey team. Both their boys and girls teams will use the Worcester Ice Center later this year.

Railers begin billboard advertisements around Worcester
The Railers have begun placing billboard advertisements around Worcester county this week. In a video released by Community Coordinator Jill Witkowski, the first was located on route 20 with 19 more billboards being placed in the coming weeks.

JP Anderson named CCM / ECHL Player of the Week
Former Worcester Shark goaltender JP Anderson has been named Goaltender of the Week for the week of March 13-19. Anderson went 2-0-0 with a 2.20 goals-against average and a save percentage of .936 in three appearances last week. He stopped 11 of 12 shots he faced in a relief effort on Friday in a 5-2 loss to Wheeling, made 44 saves in a 5-4 win against the Nailers on Saturday and turned aside 33 shots in a 6-1 victory over Atlanta on Sunday. The 44 saves set a professional career high, surpassing his previous high of 42 from 2013 with the San Francisco Bulls.

Transactions
Cory Quirk signed a one year contract extension (through the 2017-18 season) with the Fischtown Pinguins (DEL) on March 18.
Daniel Doremus signed a PTO with the Syracuse Crunch (AHL) on March 16.
Daniel Doremus was released from his PTO with the Syracuse Crunch (AHL) on March 19. He will return to the Manchester Monarchs (ECHL).
Ryan Carpenter was reassigned to the San Jose Barracuda (AHL) from the San Jose Sharks (NHL).
Greger Hanson signed a PTO with the Charlotte Checkers (AHL) on March 20.
Tomas Plihal signed a one-year contract extension (2017-18 season) with the Orli Znojmo (EBEL) on March 24.
Taylor Doherty was released from his PTO with the Providence Bruins (AHL) on March 24. He will return to the Orlando Solar Bears (ECHL).
