Worcester, MA — The Worcester Railers announced the signing of rookie defenseman Willie Raskob on Friday.
Raskob, a 22-year old from Hastings, MN, joins the Railers after four seasons at the University of Minnesota – Duluth. In 148 games played, he amassed 59 points, tallying 10 goals and 49 assists.
In his senior year, he played a significant role in the team’s NCAA Championship run, recording four goals, 13 assists, 69 penalty minutes, and a +10 rating.
“Willie is a mobile defenseman that comes out of a terrific program in Duluth,” said Railers Coach and GM Jamie Russell. “He will play in all situations and he can catch opponents by surprise with some big open ice hits. He is a gamer and we are thrilled to welcome him to Worcester.”
With the addition of Raskob, the Railers have four forwards, four defensemen, and a goaltender. Additional signing announcements are expected in the coming weeks.
