LAST WEEK: The IceCats played their first home and home of the season, hosting Lowell on Friday the 15th, then taking the short ride to battle the Lock Monsters at Tsongas Arena on Saturday the 16th. The ‘Cats dropped both tilts, losing Friday 4-2, and on Saturday 6-3.

CURRENT RECORD: 1-3-2, 4 Points.

PLAYER HIGHLIGHTS: Jame Pollock now has four goals on the young season, including the only two goals in last Friday’s 4-2 loss to Lowell at home. Lubos Bartecko and Andrej Podkonicky picked up the assists on each of Pollock’s goals. Marty Reasoner has made the score sheet in five of the IceCats six games thus far. He recorded four points over the first four games, went scoreless in Friday’s loss, then scored one of the team’s three goals in the 6-3 loss at Lowell. Second year forward Dan Corso had two of Worcester’s three goals in Saturday’s contest, while Reasoner added the other. D Rory Fitzpatrick appeared in his first game of the season on Friday, marking his fourth season in an IceCats uniform. He joins Terry Virtue as the only other IceCat to have worn the uniform for as many seasons. Defensive counterpart Jason Widmer will become the third IceCat to have played four seasons in the Worcester when he skates his first shift this season. Incidentally, Fitzpatrick is fifth all-time in games played for Worcester with 166, while Widmer is fourth with 174. Virtue leads the all-time list with 303 games played.

TRANSACTIONS: October 13th – G Kenric Exner loaned to Peoria Rivermen (ECHL). October 18th – F Lubos Bartecko recalled to St. Louis Blues (NHL).

LEADING SCORERS: Four players lead the team with six points. Both Marty Reasoner and Daniel Corso are 2-4-6, while Lubos Bartecko and Andrej Podkonicky are 1-5-6. Both Bartecko and Corso each have a power play goal, while Reasoner has two.

UPCOMING ICECATS GAMES: The IceCats host the Hartford Wolf Pack for the first time this season on Friday night at 7:35 PM. The Portland Pirates, back in the New England Division this season, make their first Centrum Centre appearance of the year on Saturday at 7:35 PM.
