WILKES-BARRE, PA — The IceCats, battling for the final playoff spot in the Atlantic Division, picked up two points and some offense from an unlikely source on Saturday night with a 4-3 overtime win in Northeast Pennsylvania. Former longtime Penguin and current Cat Brendan Buckley stung his old mates with two goals and two assists, including the helper on the overtime winner by Eric Boguniecki.
After a scoreless first, Buckley bagged his first since January 15th, and second of the season, to tie the game at one.
In the third, the Pens scored twice before Worcester responded. Colin Hemingway scored his fourth less than a minute after the Penguins established the two-goal cushion. Buckley then scored his single season career-high third goal of the season to tie the game at 12:50. Boguniecki then won the game at 3:14 of the OT.
Jason Bacashihua was stellar for Worcester, stopping 30. Worcester hosts Albany on Sunday at 4:05 PM.
