Momentum would shift when Rapid City had the next six shots on goal. Chase Pauls regained the lead for Rapid City on a one-timer at 8:02. Anthony Repaci scored four minutes later on the power play when he scored on a rebound off the pads of Connor Murphy to bring the Railers back to within one. Gahagen was pulled late in the period for the extra attacker, and Rapid City would be awarded their fifth goal to secure the win after Drew Callin tripped up Cameron Buhl on his way to the empty net.
