WORCESTER, MA – The Worcester Railers HC hosted their Ugly Sweater Event on December 12, 2016 at Mezcal Tequila Cantina. The event was the monthly event hosted by the club for December 2016, and featured Legendary Boston Bruins national anthem singer Rene Rancourt.

Worcester Hockey Fans arrived around 6:30 and started trickling out around 8. Rene Rancourt performed both the Canadian and United States National Anthems before the Boston Bruins/Montreal Canadiens game at 7:30. The Worcester Railers gave out two sets of tickets to future Boston Bruins games, 1 for the person with the best “ugliest sweater” and one from a random drawing for each person in attendance.

Worcester Magazine posted a video of Rene Rancourt singing both the United States and Canadian national anthem:

The event was a laid back and a social event. Fans were able to speak with Railers front office staff and plenty of food was provided by Mezcal staff. Railers sold team merchandise and the Founder’s Circle Jerseys were available to the members who ordered them earlier in the year.

In the interview with Worcester News Tonight, Eric Lindquist stated: “A lot of these hockey fans have been waiting for hockey for almost two years now and a lot of them have become a really tight group. We know either the IceCats or the Sharks so it’s important to get them all together on a monthly basis just to get them feeling good about hockey again in Worcester.”

Founder’s Circle Jerseys

After being delayed from the Skate to the Date Event, the first Worcester Railers jerseys are out and finally in the hands of founder’s circle members. The jerseys feature a Montreal Canadiens inspired design featuring a custom Railers HC Founder’s Circle Patches on both shoulders, custom nameplates, and numbers. The jerseys are a limited edition of 200 jerseys and were available exclusively to Founder’s Circle members earlier this year.

The jerseys the players will wear will be unveiled sometime next year.
