NHL to Stick to Two Jersey Styles Next Season

Word came out this week that NHL teams will be limited to only road and home jerseys next season, meaning that alternate third jerseys will not be used next season. This comes as Adidas takes over for Reebok as the official outfitter of NHL uniforms. Some teams will have to decide on adopting their alternate jerseys as their primary home or away jerseys.

Hartford Wolf Pack to Stay in Hartford for at Least One More Season

It appears another Northeast AHL team could be making a move. The Hartford Wolf Pack announced that they’ve extended their lease for one more season after this one concludes. Rumors have been made that the Pack could be relocating due to issues with their lease. We’ll provide updates on this as it develops.

Skate on the Worcester Oval Event Announced

The Worcester Railers HC will be hosting their next event at the Worcester Oval on Sunday, January 29. The event, named Skate on the Worcester Oval will be a free event for Worcester Railers Hockey Club members. The event will begin at 12PM with free rentals for all members. Everyone is encouraged to arrive by 11:45am to ensure hitting the ice by 12pm!

Pavelski Named NHL All-Star

Joe Pavelski was named to the NHL-All Star game for the Pacific Division. Pavelski has 15 goals, 24 assists, and 39 points with a +10 rating in 42 games.

Cheechoo and Rau Named KHL All-Stars

Jonathan Cheechoo and Chad Rau have been named for the KHL (Kontinental Hockey League) All-Star Game. Cheechoo will represent the Bobrov Division and Rau is representing the Chernyshev Division.

Matt Irwin signed a one-year contract extension with the Nashville Predators (NHL) on January 6.

Igor Valeyev signed with Chelmet Chelyabinsk (VHL) on January 7.

Karl Stollery was recalled to the New Jersey Devils (NHL) from the Albany Devils (AHL) on January 10.

Greger Hanson signed a PTO with the San Diego Gulls (AHL) on January 11.

Nathan Moon was traded to the Toledo Walleye (ECHL) from the Wichita Thunder (ECHL) on January 12.

Ryan Vesce was signed to a PTO (tryout) with with HC Davos (NLA) on January 12.

Bobby Farnham was reassigned to the St. John’s Ice Caps (AHL) from the Montreal Canadiens (NHL) on January 13.
