Worcester, MA- The Worcester IceCats of the American Hockey League (AHL) today learned that their National Hockey League (NHL) affiliate in St. Louis has assigned forward Jim Campbell to Worcester. His arrival comes on the heels of a 10 game assignment with the Manitoba Moose of the International Hockey League (IHL).

Campbell, who became St. Louis property after being signed as a free agent on July 11, 1996, has spent three seasons with the Blues. During that time, he tallied 109 points in 199 games 199(49/60/109). His breakthrough season came during 96-97 when he amassed season high 23 goals and 43 points for St. Louis 68(23/20/43).

This is the third assignment of player personnel by St. Louis to Worcester in less than a week’s time. Defenseman Rudy Poeschek was designated to Worcester on October 28th, while forward Lubos Bartecko arrived in Worcester the following day.

The IceCats will depart for their first extended road trip of the season on Thursday afternoon. They will be in Rochester to take on the Americans on Friday night and in Hershey for a game with the Bears on Saturday.
