WORCESTER, MA- The Worcester IceCats are proud to announce that Aaron MacKenzie has been named the IceCats winner of the American Specialty/AHL Man of the Year award for his outstanding contributions to the greater Worcester community and charitable organizations during the 2003-04 season.

The Terrace Bay, Ontario native and University of Denver graduate has always been one of the first on his team to sign up when a curriculum is posted. The IceCats rookie was an eager participant in numerous community initiatives for the ‘Cats. His outside appearances included hospitals, youth centers, schools and youth hockey practices, all to lift spirits, teach fair play, add support and spread goodwill on behalf of his teammates and the league. He is a great ambassador for the IceCats and the game.

In recognition of his efforts, MacKenzie will be presented with an etched crystal trophy during an on-ice presentation prior to an upcoming home game.

MacKenzie is now one of 28 finalists for the 2003-04 Yanick Dupre Memorial Award, honoring the overall American Specialty/AHL Man of the Year.
